Opening Crown Market in Tor
The market does not exist on the clearnet. A .onion address only opens in a browser built to talk to the Tor network, and the whole setup takes one afternoon at most.
Get Tor Browser
Download it from torproject.org. Pick the build for your system: Windows, macOS, or Linux. On a phone the apps are Tor Browser for Android and Onion Browser for iOS. Both handle .onion addresses out of the box, no extra plugins. If a site offers a "Tor Browser" from anywhere other than torproject.org, it is not the browser.
Paste the address, do not type it
The address is 56 characters before ".onion", 62 with it. Hand-typing a string that long loses letters and swaps neighbors, and the result is a different site that opens without complaint. Copy the full string, paste it into the URL bar, press enter.
Wait out the queue
The first load builds a circuit through the Tor network, and the market shows a queue while it settles: a walking figure and an estimated wait under a minute. Do not refresh. If it stalls past a reasonable wait, build a new circuit or switch to a different mirror from the list. The queue is the market, not a fault.
A note on clearnet gateways
Services that open .onion addresses inside a regular browser do exist, and they work. The gateway sits between you and the hidden service and sees your whole session, every page and every request you make through it. Tor Browser is the path where that middleman is not in the room.
