What is Crown Market?
It is a marketplace that lives in Tor. Everything runs on .onion addresses, payment is in bitcoin, and purchases go through escrow, meaning the funds are held until you confirm you received the order.
How do I reach it?
You need the Tor Browser and a working .onion address. Point the browser at one of the three current mirrors and the market opens. The step by step setup is on the connect page.
Which of the three addresses is the real one?
All three. They are three doors into the same market, and none is "the" one. Any of them that passes the character check is the real thing.
Does Crown Market charge fees?
Yes. There is a fee on deposits and withdrawals, and a percentage taken from sales. The exact numbers are shown in the market's own interface, where they belong and where they can change.
Which currency does it accept?
Bitcoin, and only bitcoin. If a seller or a page asks you to pay in anything else, that is a sign to step back.
Can I browse without an account?
Yes. The catalog is open to look at with no login. An account is only needed when you want to buy, use the wallet, or talk to a seller through the market's chat.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. On Android, the Tor Browser opens the site in its mobile layout. On iOS, the Onion Browser does the same job. It is the same market, just in a phone sized frame.
Why does the address change?
The market rotates its addresses. The old one stops resolving or gets taken over by a stranger's page wearing the same look. The full pattern is on the history page.
I deposited and it does not show up?
Wait for the network confirmations to land. If a long time has passed and it still is not there, raise a dispute or contact support from inside the market. Not by email, not by a link someone sent you: from inside the account.
What if the page I opened is not Crown?
Check the address character by character. Then close the tab, copy the address fresh from the list, and open it again. The character check is on the verify page.
